Welcome Message

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Malaysian Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MJBMB) is coming back, after a period of dormancy for six years, in a new rejuvenated format with a new approach and an international editorial board.

I have been given the honour and privilege to be the new Editor-in-Chief of the journal by the executive committee of the Malaysian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB). As the new Editor-in-Chief, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to be part of the journal by submitting your important research findings for publication.

The last decade has witnessed an exponential growth in biochemistry globally and the Malaysian Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology aims to capture and publish the high quality research output in the broad area of biochemistry including both fundamental and applied aspects of biological sciences. We have widened our scope to accommodate the dawning of the interdisciplinary revolution. We welcome issues of interdisciplinary nature, which may be useful to the understanding of complex biological problems. Articles involving an experimental approach supported by molecular simulation studies will be most welcomed.

The journal will be published online in PDF format, 3 times in a year in the months of April, August and December. A short biography of a renowned scientist (national / international) will be the part of each issue. The December issue will also include the abstracts of the Annual Conference of the MSBMB of that year. There will be a ’Best Paper Award’ given to the best paper published in MJBMB for each year.  The award will carry a certificate, USD 100.00 (cash) and waiver of registration fee for the next Annual Conference of the MSBMB. The renewal of the journal will be launched in August, 2016 to coincide with the Annual Conference of the Society.

In association with our dynamic international editorial board members, I can assure you of a fast and fair peer review process.  The editorial board would be happy to publish discovery papers, which require urgent publication in the form of short communications.

I look forward to welcoming your valuable submissions.

Sincerely,

SAAD TAYYAB, Ph.D.
